We’re proud to welcome Canberra to the X Commercial network, with James Baker and Jace Youngberry opening our 14th office as joint Managing Directors.
Their partnership brings together complementary experience, a shared ambition and two different pathways to business ownership. Supporting Ambition from Within
For James, opening an office in Canberra has been a clear goal from the moment he joined us.
Having lived and worked in the Canberra market for the past decade, he wanted to build a business in a market he knows well. Over the last 12 months in our agency team, we’ve supported that ambition through focused training, mentoring, clear goal setting and regular accountability.
We know that becoming a successful business owner requires skills beyond delivering strong sales results. Our work with James has focused on developing the leadership and business capabilities needed to run an office, turning his ownership goal into a practical plan.
James brings more than 10 years of sales experience across Canberra and key NSW markets. His expertise spans office, retail, industrial, medical, childcare and development property, advising investors, developers, institutions and owner-occupiers.
Opening the Door to Experienced Professionals
Jace’s journey to ownership has taken a different path.
With more than 15 years of experience across commercial and residential property, he already had substantial expertise in asset management, leasing, business development and agency operations. What he needed was an opportunity to take the next step, something his previous role could not offer.
We saw an experienced property professional with the ambition and capability to lead, and an opportunity to help him build a business of his own.
A fully licensed real estate agent in both the ACT and NSW, Jace brings extensive experience in portfolio management, financial controls, compliance and office systems. His strong client relationships and operational expertise provide a valuable foundation for the Canberra office.

Together, James and Jace combine transaction expertise with asset management and operational experience.
That combination gives their clients access to broad property knowledge, from buying, selling and leasing through to the ongoing management and performance of their assets. It also supports their shared commitment to building a well-run office that helps create wealth for clients across the ACT and NSW.
They’ll deliver that service with the support of our connected network across Australia and New Zealand, drawing on shared knowledge, relationships and opportunities beyond their local market.
